Journal of Economics and Political Sciences (JEP) aims to encourage academic studies in different disciplines of social sciences, especially in the fields of economics, political science and international relations, to contribute to the literature in relevant fields, and to be a quality academic platform where scientific and critical studies are published.

Journal of Economics and Political Sciences (JEP) is a scientific journal published electronically by Düzce University, Akçakoca Bey Faculty of Political Sciences.
In addition to original theoretical and analytical studies, the journal also publishes book reviews.
The journal is published twice a year, in the June and December..
Articles in Turkish or English from relevant fields are accepted to the journal, where a double-blind referee process is carried out.

  • JEP journal is published in Turkish and English. Accepted manuscripts should be formatted by the author(s) in the following format.
  • It is requested that the electronic copy of the study should be written in Microsoft Word program, using Bookman Old Style font. Body text should be 11 point; abstract and footnotes should be 9 point; Graph, figure, table titles and references should be in 10 point font.
  • The article title should be written in 14-point font, bold and left-aligned, with the first letters of the words capitalized. The title should be planned in the language that the article is written. If the article is in Turkish, the English title should be added under the Turkish title in 12-point font, italic and left-aligned.
  • The submitted article must be at least 4,000 and at most 12,000 words (excluding bibliography). Line spacing should be 1.0.
  • Page layout: Page size should be A4 (21x29.7 cm). The text layout should be arranged in two columns on the page, justified on both sides.
  • Page margins should be set narrowly (top:1.27cm; bottom:1.27cm; left:1.27cm; right:1.27cm). The gap between two columns should be 1.25cm.
  • The papers that are submitted in Turkish must have both Turkish and English abstracts. Turkish abstracts are not required for English studies. The abstract should be at least 150 and at most 250 words. There should be keywords (maximum 5) under the abstracts. GEL codes can be added, it is optional. Abstract, keywords and JEL codes should be written in Bookman Old Style 9 point font. Abstract should be written in italics.
  •  In-text first level headings should be written in 12 point bold, second level headings should be 11 point bold, third level headings should be written in 11 point italic and the first letter of each word should be capitalized. Headings should be displayed as 1., 1.1, 1.1.2.
  • There should be an 8nk space after each paragraph in the text. Paragraphs should start left aligned.
  • Tables and figures used should be numbered with their titles, and the titles should be shown on the figures and tables as Table 1. Table Name, Figure 1. Figure Name. The reference should be cited right below the table and figure titles. Relevant tables and figures should be referenced in the text.
  • In-text parentheses should be used for citation. The bibliography should be prepared in accordance with the 6th version of APA style. For bibliography templating style, it is suggested to refer to the sample article template.
  • The contact person with the journal will be the corresponding author of the paper.
  • Manuscript should be submitted to the ‘Dergipark Submit Manuscript’.
  • The article should be submitted to the system with the ‘Copyright Agreement Form’ attached.
  • All responsibility for all publications published in our journal belongs to the author/authors.
  • Authors may be asked to make corrections to their work in accordance with referee reports and the editorial board.
  • Only one paper by the same author can be published in the same issue.
  • If artificial intelligence tools are used in the paper, it should be informed clearly. The ethical principles section of the journal about the artificial intelligence and ethics should be reviewed carefully.

Ethical Principles and Publication Policy

  • The Journal of Economics and Political Sciences (JEP) is committed to the highest standards of publication ethics. JEP adopts the ethical publishing principles published by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), Open Access Scholarly Publishers Association (OASPA) and ULAKBIM. Manuscripts submitted to the journal must be original.
  • Manuscripts submitted to the journal must not have been published elsewhere and must not have been submitted to another journal for publication. Each manuscript is double blind reviewed by one of the editors and at least two referees.
  • Plagiarism, false authorship/denied authorship, research/data fabrication, fabricated data/results, article slicing, slicing and dicing, submitting the same publication in more than one place, copyright infringement and concealment of conflict of interest are considered unethical behaviors. The author(s) have an obligation to cooperate with the editor in correcting or retracting any errors or inaccuracies in the published, early view or under review manuscript. All manuscripts that do not comply with accepted ethical standards will be withdrawn from publication. This includes manuscripts containing possible irregularities or non-compliances detected after publication.


Research Ethics


The journal upholds the highest standards of research ethics and adopts the international principles of research ethics defined below. It is the responsibility of the authors to ensure that manuscripts comply with ethical guidelines. The principles of integrity, quality and transparency must be ensured in the design, review of the design and conduct of the research. The research team and participants should be fully informed about the purpose of the research, its methods and possible anticipated uses, and the requirements and risks, if any, of participation in the research. Confidentiality of information provided by research participants and confidentiality of respondents must be ensured. The research should be designed to protect the autonomy and dignity of the participants. Research participants should take part in the research voluntarily and should not be under any coercion. Any harm to participants should be avoided. The research should be planned in a way that does not put participants at risk. Research independence must be clear and explicit; any conflict of interest must be stated. In experimental studies, written informed consent must be obtained from participants who decide to participate in the research. If the study is to be conducted in any institution or organization, the approval of the legal guardian of children and those under guardianship or those with a certified mental illness must be obtained. In studies with a human element, it should be stated in the “method” section that “informed consent” has been obtained from the participants and ethics committee approval has been obtained from the institution where the study is conducted.

During submitting an article to JEP, authors are required to read and approve the following copyright form on the web site.

The author(s) acknowledge the following:

- That the submitted article is the original work of the author(s) and that they have not plagiarised,
- That all authors have participated in this study as principal participants and that they take full responsibility for this study,
- All authors have seen and approved the final version of the submitted manuscript,
- That the article has not been published elsewhere or submitted for publication,
- Authors accept and undertake that the text, figures and documents in the article do not violate the Copyrights of other persons.
- Authors allow DUZCE UNIVERSITY to publish the intellectual work under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivatives 4.0 International Licence.
- The copyrights of all papers accepted for publication in JEP as a result of referee evaluation belong to the authors.
- Author(s) are required to sign and submit the Copyright Form alongside with their paper to JEP for evaluation. With this agreement, the authors declare that they transfer the right to make editorial corrections in the manuscript to be published to JEP.
- All responsibility for the manuscripts submitted to JEP within the framework of the rules belongs to the author(s).
- No royalties are paid for the published articles.


Protection of Personal Data

Editors are responsible for protecting the personal data of authors, reviewers and readers. Editors are also responsible for ensuring the protection of personal data of the subjects or images included in the studies evaluated in JEP. In the absence of an explicit consent document of the individuals used in the studies submitted to JEP, the editors are responsible for rejecting the study.

Publishing and access services are provided free of charge for both authors and readers.
